Communities throughout the U.S. are restoring their historic movie palaces to celebrate their unique architectural heritage, community history, and their contribution to downtown economic vitality.
The Whiteside Theatre Foundation is committed to collaborating with other downtown businesses to maintain a vibrant and diverse atmosphere that attracts more people for entertainment, dining, and shopping in downtown Corvallis. The reopening of the 800-seat Whiteside Theatre as a multi-faceted performance hall will expand the range of presentations possible. Touring musicians and other acts that book mid-sized venues along the west coast, such as the Aladdin in Portland, the Historic Elsinore in Salem, and the McDonald Theatre in Eugene, can perform at the Whiteside Theatre. In addition, local performers, classic films, children's Saturday matinees, Senior Night, multicultural events, educational workshops, and a variety of public gatherings will all have a home at the Whiteside Theatre.
